Events at Capitol Hill

January 12, 2021 / Mb Staffing

Colleagues and Friends,

In light of the events at the Capitol Building last week, January 6, 2021, Mb Staffing Services would like to express concern and show solidarity with all of you who live and work in the District of Columbia and surrounding areas. Regardless of political affiliation, the alarming display of violence and destruction of government property was unsettling and destabilizing, not only to the Federal Government, but to the D.C. community at large. We take the threat posed by these violent protests seriously and urge you all to do the same.

Attached to this notice is an Extension of Public Emergency signed by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. It will be in effect until Thursday, January 21, 2021. Also attached is a letter from the mayor’s office addressing last week’s events. We ask that you please take the time to read both and take them to heart. We have no intention of letting these events stop us from going on with our daily lives or impede our business, but we will move forward in concert with the greater D.C. community and follow the mayor’s directives.

Thank you all for your attention and please stay safe.
