Colleagues and friends,
Yesterday, the House of Representatives and Senate passed a $900 billion pandemic relief bill. It would include stimulus checks to individuals, unemployment benefit increases and loans for small businesses. A full breakdown of the bill, updated yesterday in Politico, can be found here.
$600 direct checks would be sent to individuals making up to $75,000 a year and to couples making up to $150,000 a year, along with $600 per child. Unemployment checks would be increased by $300 through March 14th. Small businesses would be the beneficiaries of a $325 billion boost.
If it is signed into law by the president as it is expected to, relief could begin to be sent out by next week. The bill would be the result of long negotiations, and would remain in effect through September 2021. Though incomplete, it would certainly provide a good deal of relief and hopefully continue to soften the blow of the pandemic throughout the country. At Mb, we are looking forward to the assistance the bill would provide to all of you, as well as the assistance we would receive in our ability to provide opportunities for all of you.
Thank you and happy holidays,
