Mb Prepared: Introduction

Since June 19, the District of Columbia has been in Phase Two of the reopening process. Though there is not a precise timeline in place for moving on to Phase Three, the debate over when to progress to that next level is ongoing. The recent rise in new Covid-19 cases across the country are making the transition difficult to predict.

Mb Staffing is taking the time to plan for Phase Three. More specifically, the corporate office intends to return from remote work, at least partially, two weeks after the start of Phase Three. Accordingly, we are making plans to implement safe and healthy office practices and maintain a strong and reliable remote operation. Our objective is to demonstrate to our clients and associates that the adaptations we are all being called upon to make are doable and that we can all continue to be successful in the face of challenges.

Over the next few weeks, we will be publishing a series of articles that will describe in greater detail some of the measures that Mb expects to implement upon our return to work. The topics to be covered will include personal protective equipment (PPE), health and safety policies, and adjustments to the company’s business practices.

As we and our clients move forward, we are between a rock and a hard place. On the one hand we cannot afford stagnation in our business, while on the other we cannot risk the health and safety of our workers. Failure to reconcile this dilemma is a key reason why many are either reluctant to go back to work or in denial of the potential health risks of doing so. Ultimately, however, while there are serious impediments to how we are used to operating, operating within the new normal does not mean sacrificing the health of our business for our personal health, or vice-versa. Instead it means a coordinated effort with our clients to adapt successfully.
