Mb Staffing Services, LLC. is fully aware of the current climate and the exponential growth of the COVID-19 virus and Omicron variant that seems to threaten the health and welfare of our community and impact many residents of the unvaccinated population. Our goal for our associates, colleagues, and community is to continue encouraging regulatory practices, posting informational updates regarding the mayor’s executive mandate, and formulate plans for our client and associates as we vigorously monitor the news regarding any COVID updates.
As the Mayor’s New Order (2021-148) implements, it is critically important that the District take immediate action to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. As a business that resides in Washington, D.C., our team is fully compliant to the mayor’s new order and in doing so, we are reinstating a few key points that is essential for our associates and colleagues to know.
Mayor’s Executive Order 2021-148 mandates that any guests, visitors, or customers over the age of twelve years old must provide a proof of vaccination status in order to be permitted entry for certain indoor facilities. These establishments and facilities include restaurants, bars and nightclubs, indoor exercise and recreational establishments, indoor entertainment establishments, and indoor event and meeting establishments.
The order also reinstates individuals exempt from the vaccination entry requirements, which are individuals entering for a quick and limited purpose, such as placing an order for takeout, or picking up an order, or delivery. The order also suggests that any individual that is unvaccinated entitled by the law for reasonable accommodations is also exempt from requiring a vaccination record.
Alternatively, there are establishments that will not require a vaccination record in order to be granted entry, which includes: grocery stores, Houses of worship, pharmacies, medical offices, polling places during elections and such other facilities as exempted from the Department of Health.
Effective at 6:00A.M., Saturday, January 15, all residents and visitors of Washington, D.C. must follow the implementations imposed by the Mayor’s Order.
The District of Columbia Mayor’s office recently reported that 619,976 DC residents were administered at least one dose, and nearly 500,000 DC residents are fully vaccinated. The number of residents vaccinated is unmatched and outnumbers the number of positive cases reported, which is 118,802 as of January 11, 2022; however, nearly 2,000 per 100,000 people are tested positive every week. Nearly 68% of Washingtonians are fully vaccinated, and 126,000 residents received their booster shot.
